my mother calls me 3 times in a day.

always, like clockwork.

- from the moment i wake up.
-to the time i get back from work or gimmick,
-and before i go to sleep.

she would always, always lecture the following:

-my safety
-my work choice
-my appearance

and lastly,

-to always include God in my everyday life.

my mother...she is everything that annoys and everything that i love. the only person i could feel such love/annoyance at the same time.

she is conservative, prim and proper, like a queen. she ran the house like a monarchy, with father as the king who silently gives his laws, but the queen would be the one to make sure that the law is followed and implemented. the house is well kept, almost everything in its order. but the one that made her famous is her cooking....her cuisine would always have a theme..nothing mixed up or in topsy turvy. if tonight's menu consists of father's favorite tempura, then it's japanese night for us.

she worries endlessly, staying up all night until she knew i would be home from work or gimmick. she wants to know all my friends and their backgrounds, their habits and even their favorite food. it is considered rule numero uno that i would introduce all my friends to my parents or no gimmick.

but she would always try to understand that there are things that i should be exposed to, to experience, to gain knowledge...and besides, she knew that the more she tries to stop me, the more i am enticed to find out and discover on my own without her discretion. so instead, she encourages, but offers caution as a set back.

she calls me 3 times in a day, since i left caloocan.

and she probably won't admit it...she misses me.

she may prod too much...but she's still my mother.

and i can't stay annoyed with her for too long.
